Two fresh eggs.
Something I didn’t know until a few years ago is that different chicken breeds lay different coloured eggs. These two were laid by our Black Stars, who are a modern breed of chicken specifically bred to be good egg producers. Apparently they’re not great meat-birds.
This picture was a few weeks ago; now our other two pullets, the Rhode Island Reds, have started to lay. If you want to eat something at our house, your options are eggs, eggs, eggs with eggs, or eggs.
