After years of thinking about it, I finally tried making a Concord Grape Pie a few weeks ago, prompted by the discovery of a patch growing untended not too far from our place.
After initially giving me skeptical remarks, my family have been converted to true believers, so back to the secret patch we went, and last night I cooked up the pie filling.
I’ve read comments that processing the grapes is time-consuming, but I’ll take this over peeling & chopping apples any day.
Plus, when you’re cooking the filling, the house fills with that heavenly Concord smell that reminds me of my Papa making wine.
