I work at the Canadian Canoe Museum, and every year we raffle off a couple of canoes as a fundraiser. This year, our General Manager John Summers has squeezed time out of his already busy schedule to build this Fiddlehead - it’s a canoe designed for one, paddled with a double-bladed paddle. This is a photo I took of the boat in progress; since then, some of the decks have gone on. If you drop by the museum, you can take a look - it’s in the Living Traditions workshop.
I’m not a canoeist or anything, but I think it’s a beaut.
Work listening: Twilight Hotel, Royal Wood, and The Dardanelles. Three bands I heartily endorse.
I work for singer/songwriter Dan Hill (you definitely know at least one song he’s written) as a Social Media Consultant; Wednesday afternoon we were at CBC for a taping of The Hour. They’re very efficient; we were there less than two hours and they shot 2 segments and the interview. No waiting around!
Anyway, I’m mostly posting this because I’m kinda stoked that the photo on the screen behind George’s head is my photo of Dan playing live at Showplace Peterborough.
The interview should be airing sometime next week!
